What "trending" actually measures

Trending is about acceleration, not size. A slot at 50 bets per hour up from a 10/hour baseline is trending hard — five times its normal pace. A slot at 5,000 bets per hour that has held that rate for weeks is popular, but it isn't trending. Both are valid signals, but they answer different questions. Popular tells you what most players are spinning right now. Trending tells you which slots are heating up faster than the rest.

The metric reads SlotRadar's ACTIVITY axis — one of six axes the radar uses to rank every slot. Activity scores the gap between a slot's current bets-per-hour and the rolling baseline computed from its own recent history. The bigger the gap, the higher the score. The leaderboard sorts on that score, descending.

How we compute it

Every spin from every monitored crypto casino flows into our pipeline within seconds. We aggregate bets-per-hour per slot across all casinos, then compare that live rate to the slot's baseline — the typical activity level it has held over the past several days. Slots running well above their baseline rank higher; slots holding steady or cooling off rank lower.

Two design choices matter here. First, the baseline is per-slot, not global. A slot averaging 20 bets per hour and one averaging 2,000 are both eligible for the trending list — what counts is the spike relative to themselves. Second, the data is live player behavior, not editorial picks. Every signal in the ranking comes from spins we observed, not from affiliate priorities or marketing pushes.

What to look for as a player

Use trending to spot fresh hits before they peak. Slots heating up often share a common cause — a new release, a streamer feature, a viral big-win clip, a casino promotion — and getting in early sometimes means catching the slot during its hottest variance window. That said, momentum cuts both ways. A slot that spiked yesterday may already be cooling today, which is why the leaderboard refreshes continuously.

Pair trending with our other rankings. A slot that is trending AND has wide reach across multiple casinos is a stronger signal than one trending only on a single venue. A slot that is trending AND showing strong payout numbers right now is a momentum-plus-performance combo worth a closer look. The dimension tabs above the leaderboard let you flip between views.

How rankings update

The trending list updates as new spins come in — typically refreshed every few minutes through our tiered rollup pipeline. Each refresh recomputes the activity gap for every eligible slot, so the order can shift quickly during fast-moving sessions. Slots at the top of the list when you arrive may not be there an hour later; that volatility is the whole point. If you want stability, the popular and best-payout lists move slower because they look at longer windows.

Trending is the most reactive dimension SlotRadar publishes. It is built for players who want to know what slots are hot right now, what slots are rising on real-player demand, and where the live action is concentrated at this moment.
